Endorse the Dream Team! Save Your Nation From Tyranny!

The formation of the unity alliance is a dream-come-true for all Maldivians, who truly believe in democracy, justice and freedom.

This blog is intended to allow people to put their personal endorsement and backing for the newly formed National Unity Alliance, which has approved to back Mohamed Nasheed (Anni) of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), who will contest against Dictator Gayyoom in the second round of the Presidential Election on 28th October.

This is only for the supporters of the reform movement, the aim of which was always to bring change and to replace the dictatorial regime of Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom, which has ruled our nation for 30 long and dark years, without any regard for the rule of law, undermining our most basic rights.

Our message is very clear. If you want change and if you want to end this tyranny, you have a responsibility to spread the message to your fellow citizens.

Please don’t waste your time in tea and coffee shops, discussing and analysing things. Put your time to good use and do your own personal canvassing. Talk to people and try to convince them that with a unity government, we are bound to prosper because it will be a government that will work for the betterment of all Maldives.

There is no power like that of a united people and each of us can make a difference.

You can submit your personal endorsement in the comments section below. However, as a rule, we will only publish comments that are made in your personal name, so all anonymous endorsements will be moderated.

PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO PUT YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS - ANONYMOUS ENDORSEMENTS WILL NOT BE POSTED

This is the world’s greatest democratic and civil coalition ever to confront a tyranny. A tyranny that has been disguised through the tourism industry developed entirely by hard working Maldivian private businessmen. This is a defining moment in the history of the Maldives will never be able to witness for generations to come.

I could barely remember former president Ibrahim Nasir because he was a very private and reserve character who believed in “action speaks louder than words”. But in my lifetime we have only seen one president, who happens to be the former defence minister, finance minister, central bank governor, foreign exchange rate determiner, among many others.

It’s time that we honour this moment in history to buy back the Maldives that we love, for the Maldivians that Maldives is deserved for.

I hope the coalition led by Mr. Mohamed Nasheed wins. He has been a steadfast and determined Maldivian, who dearly loves Maldives. He has devoted his entire life to bring equality and equity to the Maldivians through often times compromising his own life. I would also like to thank the people who have openly and bravely opposed government and its corrupt rulers. Without our strong-willed friends such as Mr. Ahmed Shafeeg Ibrahim Moosa we would not have been able to witness the political transformation in the Maldives today.

But make no mistake about it that there are some people around the corner who are hungry to bring back the old system and impose the hardships of the last 30 years. We must be vigilant about it and keep ours eyes open so that those evil forces will never be born again.

INSHA ALLAH! Wish you all (IN THE COALITION) the BEST !!!!

WE WILL WIN! YES, WE WILL WILL!!!!

It is heart-warming to see the reformist leaders of our country united in their quest to free this land from tyranny and injustice. I fully endorse this group of visionary leaders who are willing to stand up together to bring an end to this dictatorial rule.

We have achieved a lot during the last five years. Many of us have finally managed to throw away the yokes of a dictator from around our own necks and risen up to bring freedom to these islands.

But we have a long road ahead. We have many more people who have been blindfolded and enslaved by this despotic regime and it is our duty to help them take their blindfolds off and free them from slavery.

May the Almighty Allah grant us the wisdom to see through this fog of lies, bestow on us the strength to fight on, and give us our beloved land back from this dictatorial regime. Amen

this is the one and only chance we will and we have to change this country. we should make use of this chance wisely for the betterment of this beloved nation. to oust maumoon prom power is the only way we could feel the sweetness of a pure democracy. he might do several things for the people as he is forced to do so. but still with him leading this country, there is no way his family-ruling will ever change. for him it is his family and his cronies first! not the people of this country.

i support the coalition to a 100%. and i urge every single person to vote for Anni in the second round of voting. this final chance...this moment we have been waiting for so long, it is here. and it is our duty and our obligation to make use of it for a change!

In deed, this is a rare moment in a country’s development. The fact that the most popular and most capable politicians in the history of the Maldives are behind this union is a clear indication that these are the final moments of Maumoon. InshaAllah we will succeed this time and our dreams are at the edge of coming true.

Well done heroes!

Lets not waste time think and think again before you VOTE for Maumoon. what he did and what he was not able to within the past 30years. and now he's saying will be giving IGMH to a singapore company to manage and will be acheiving a better goal than the past 30years do you think so. and look at recent changes like giving Ministry of Tourism to his Own Brother.

I think its another chance for the opposition to end Gayyom's regime.

It is sad to witness that opposition keep dividing on a routine basis over the last few years. We the general public had always given our best effort to the opposition, however during the last few years we have seen that opposition end up with split due to difference in opinions.

I strongly believe its time to forget about individual opinions and keep focusing to build a strong unity within the DREAM TEAM.

The 60% of general public voted against Gayyom demonstrating that they are more than enough to end this regime and they have made a strong commitment to stand "UNITE" and i believe that it is not only the general public to be unite in a consistent manner, but also our oppositions (whether its MDP,SLP,JP,Adhaalath, Dr.Saeed,MNC or NUP) should also remain firm in the spirit of UNITY in a consistent manner in order to end Gayyom's Dictatorial Regime.

Therefore the UNITY from general public together the UNITY from the opposition can be a strong tool to bring a "GENUINE CHANGE".
